We look for the ‘Big Three’ of textiles: integrity of fiber, transparency of dye, and ethical assembly. By choosing 100% natural materials and refusing the synthetic blends that fall short of a clean conscience, we maintain the integrity of our “second skin.” We categorize every textile by its Degree of Integrity:
The Gold Standard
The Clean Your Conscious Identity
Biological Composition
The Impact
Linen
Flax plant stalks.
The gold standard for physiological rest. Naturally antibacterial and free from the chemical burdens of modern industrial textiles.
Hemp
Cannabis Sativa stalks.
Requires no pesticides for cultivation and is naturally resistant to mold and UV. Maintains absolute biological integrity.
Linen / Hemp Blends
Combined bast plant fibers.
A reinforced shield for the household that marries the durability of hemp with the breathability of linen. Zero chemical interference.
Vicuña
Wild Andean camelid hair.
The finest fiber. Usually left undyed to maintain its raw state and total biological integrity.
Alpaca
Alpaca hair.
Naturally hypoallergenic. Lacks the lanolin grease of sheep, removing the need for the heavy chemical scouring baths standard wool requires.
Pure Cashmere
100% Goat hair.
Ensures absolute thermal integrity. A clean protein fiber that allows the skin to regulate temperature without synthetic interference.
Peace Silk / Ahimsa
Non-violent silk harvest.
Harvested after the moth leaves. Unlike industrial silk, this is not weighted with lead or tin salts to artificially increase mass.
Organic Wool
Pesticide-free sheep hair.
Provides restorative warmth while bypassing the organophosphate “sheep dips” that disrupt the human nervous system.
Organic Cotton
GOTS/USDA Certified.
The baseline for The Clean Your Conscious Household. Protects against glyphosate and ensures no heavy-metal dyes were used.
Bamboo Linen
Mechanical bamboo fiber.
The true plant-based choice. Mechanically processed fiber—not the chemically melted viscose—ensuring no neurotoxic solvents enter the home.

The Impact
Boiled Wool
Water & Heat felting.
A mechanical finish. No chemical resins or glues are used to create density—only the traditional application of heat and agitation.
Merino Wool
Fine-breed sheep hair.
A breathable layer, provided it is not “Superwash.” Always verify the organic seal to ensure it meets the Clean Your Conscious Standard.
Silk
Standard silkworm protein.
Requires industrial caution. While natural, standard silk is often finished with synthetic softeners and questionable dyes.
Pima / Supima Cotton
Long-staple cotton.
Prioritizes softness over safety. Unless it carries the organic seal, it is an industrial crop heavily treated with pesticides.
Angora
Rabbit hair.
Provides natural warmth but is frequently mixed with Nylon to lower costs, which compromises its biological integrity.
3 Tier
The Clean Your Conscious Identity
Biological Composition
The Impact
Lyocell / Tencel
Closed-loop wood pulp.
A modern compromise. Uses non-toxic solvents, but remains a highly processed material compared to raw flax or hemp.
Mercerized Cotton
Lye-soaked cotton.
A natural fiber that has undergone a caustic chemical bath to alter its physical structure and texture.
Cupro
Cotton waste + Chemicals.
A lab-grown silk mimic. Melted in a copper-ammonium bath to behave like a synthetic. Does not meet our standard.
Modal
Beechwood pulp + Chemicals.
A soft trap. This semi-synthetic is processed with aggressive chemicals that strip the fiber of its natural origin.
Washable Silk
Silicone-coated silk.
A smothered protein. Coated in chemicals to survive a machine wash, destroying the fiber’s natural ability to breathe.
Conventional Cotton
Industrial plant fiber.
A dirty crop and one of the most heavily sprayed in existence. Pesticide residues remain locked within the fibers against your skin.

The Impact
Recycled Polyester
Melted plastic bottles.
A microplastic loop. Marketed as eco-friendly, but leaches Antimony and microplastics directly into the pores.
Polyester
Petroleum plastic.
Petroleum on the skin. Smothers the skin’s ability to detoxify and contains known endocrine disruptors.
Nylon
Petroleum plastic.
A synthetic barrier. Non-biodegradable and traps moisture, which encourages bacterial and fungal overgrowth.
Elastane / Spandex
Synthetic rubber.
A stretch breach. 100% petroleum. Limits breathability and can cause skin rashes and chemical sensitivities.
Acrylic
Plastic “Wool” mimic.
A toxic mimic made from Acrylonitrile, a known carcinogen. Highly flammable and biologically hazardous.

Biological Composition
The Impact
PFAS-Free Fibers
No “Forever Chemicals.”
A necessary guardrail. Confirms the material is water-resistant without the use of toxic Teflon-style coatings that linger in the blood.
Antimicrobial
Silver ion / Triclosan.
A microbiome disruptor. Kills the beneficial bacteria on the skin. The equivalent of wearing a chemical sanitizer 24/7.
Silver Ion Coating
Heavy metal treatment.
A bio-accumulator. These heavy metals build up in the body’s tissues over time and interfere with cellular repair.
Stain-Resistant
PFAS (Teflon) coating.
A forever chemical. Toxic to the thyroid and liver. These chemicals migrate through the skin and never leave the human body.
Wrinkle-Free
Formaldehyde Resin.
A carcinogen finish. Uses a resin that slowly releases formaldehyde—an embalming fluid—into the lungs and skin.
Flame Retardants
PBDE Chemicals.
A sleep saboteur. Neurotoxic chemicals that off-gas into the bedroom. These should never be allowed into the household.
